1. Surrealist and abstract illustrations

Abstract illustrations are gaining more popularity. For companies and businesses this is a good way to stand out from the competition by creating something individual. Giants like Google, Apple and many others have taken this trend. As more and more brands use this type of design by 2020, it will decrease  Uniqueness and efficiency of this type of graphics. That’s why designers really need to break the rules to make a design stand out.

2. Fantasy-style color palettes

2020 is set so that brands become more sparkling and crazy than ever. The trend will be highlighted by the fact that a new decade has arrived, and we are already living in the high-tech future we are used to seeing in science fiction movies. Futuristic themes, bright saturated colors. The farther from naturalness, the better.

3. Neomorphism

In design, there is now a new (and in fact recurring) trend in visual creation - neomorphism. It is a three-dimensional effect without textures, imitation of embossments and real surfaces. It is used for molds and objects that "float" over the surface and cast shadows. This style gives a sense of novelty and sets the interface apart from the rest.  Such a design will probably touch a very young audience, for whom it is really something new, completely different from the minimalism that has prevailed in the last 5 years.

4. Fine geometry

Geometric lines illustrate natural and organic shapes. In 2020 we see how designers combine these line styles to achieve impossible shapes.  Delicate geometry is smooth, abstract and difficult to apply, so it is more popular in technical and industrial branding. This style perfectly illustrates the future of technology.

5. Hand-painted elements

Under conditions of strong minimalist trends, stronger personal communication with the audience is required. This will lead to the creation of designs based on an individual approach, to the creation of something unusual and even bulky, which will give it a special customization.

6. Animations and GIFs

Animation is one of the most powerful ways to revive the brand and it is becoming more common. This usually happens in the form of micro-interactions and motion graphics, but designers always want to open the boundaries beyond what is acceptable and create a new impression from the interaction. In 2020 these will be continuous animations,  Which improve quality due to smooth transitions.

8. Street art style

Graffiti and street art techniques are eye-catching  And create images of the punk scene of the 70s-80s. Returning street art to mature graphic design for our time.  In general, the street art trend is an ideal aesthetic that allows us to feel that the future is in our hands.

9. Minimalism

The next trend is minimalist columns. This trend stems from the need for fast page loading. Because search engines compensate sites for quickly loaded pages with the best search rankings. This is a big advantage for many companies that target SEO. Minimalist pages make the lives of new and returning users easier. Remember, a picture is not always worth a thousand words. Especially if this image increases the page load time.

10. Creative Headlines

Typography has always been an important element in graphic design. In the digital age, when everything had to have immediate meaning for new users, printing became very functional as needed. But in recent years fonts have become larger, bolder and more experimental, something we have not seen since the days of print publishing and magazines of recent years.
